Introduction to Pregnancy Massage

Taught by Madeline Brock, LMT, MTI, CLT

Pregnancy is a delicate time for a woman, as her body changes to bring a new life into the world. Massage can be a wonderful and relaxing addition to a woman’s routine, and this class will give you the skills to perform safe, effective massage for this special time.

This 6-hour class covers these aspects of pregnancy massage:

  • Basic anatomy and physiology
  • Indications and contraindications
  • Specific instruction in draping and positioning for each trimester
  • Hands-on instruction in safe techniques

What to bring to class:

Students are asked to bring their basic Swedish massage linens, plus 3 firm pillows, 2 large bath towels, and 3 hand towels.

Madeline Brock, LMT, MTI, CLT, has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1999, and a Massage Therapy Instructor since 2002. She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) from the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS). Her training also includes Myofascial Release, Structural Integration, Repetitive Use Injury Therapy, Pregnancy Massage, Geriatric Massage, and Oncology Massage.
